About

Jumping Rock helps brands and agencies engage their audience by creating visually compelling content. Through live-action video and animation, we uniquely craft each project to deliver the maximum impact for our clients.

The Name

The Jumping Rock is a cliff on Mill Creek in the Adirondack Mountains. In the summer, people meet there to forget about life and take the plunge into the cool water. It’s not a huge drop, but it’s enough to make you think twice before leaping. We believe that the ability to overcome fear, take a risk and have a ton of fun along the way is what builds a foundation that supports a lasting influence on life, work and creativity. It proves that anything is possible with an adventurous spirit.

We bring these principles to each and every one of our projects.

Scott Hall

Scott Hall

Founder | Creative Director

When I was little, I used to sneak a sketch pad under my covers at night and draw Ninja Turtles until I was too tired to hold the pencil. I love art and creativity in any form, but I was drawn to video and animation because I love the impact of visual storytelling. After studying 3D modeling and Animation at Oneonta State College in Upstate New York, my career path has taken me from local news, to corporate video, short films, television commercials, and internationally televised reality shows… All in search of the next adventure.

Outside of work, you’ll find me trying to convince my kids that waterskiing and wakeboarding are more important than homework.

Cinematographer | Editor | Motion GFX Designer

One of my mottos in life is “Do something you’ll remember.” Creating memories has been the driving force that led me to creative ways of capturing the emotions within. From drawing to photography to video production, I’ve submerged myself into different ways of preserving a message while efficiently expressing its complete meaning. As an Editor and Cinematographer, visual storytelling grants me the most control to meticulously craft a memorable story. It’s awesome.

Come find me in the office or mountain biking after hours. I’ll probably invite you biking or rock climbing or something. Yes, I do have an extra bike.

Motion GFX Designer | Editor

I taught myself to drawn when I was 14. Being a moody teenager and imagining that I didn’t have much of a social life, I threw myself into drawing and eventually painting. I quickly discovered that these were things that I could do really well, and that they made me feel great. Around 16, I decided that I wanted to be an artist and that I would go to college to be a painter. After a year of general studies at art school, I discovered animation and took off from there. My major included all digital art forms, so I studied not only animation, but video editing and shooting, sound design, acting and directing, and video game production. Since school, I’ve worked various jobs in the industry, from reality TV to commercials and corporate video.

Originally from St. Louis, MO, you can find me after work at the dog park with my dog – Iggy Pup, playing soccer, listing to or playing music, or reading a good fantasy book.
